The Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 is the perfect solution for placing a camera on set when there isn’t enough space for a full sized camera. It features a MFT lens mount, a 4K sensor that’s great for low light and feature film color science. It may be small, but it has the same features as a full sized studio camera! It features 12G-SDI connectivity, making it perfect for HD and Ultra HD work up to 2160p60. The SDI and HDMI connections also give you control of the built in color corrector and lenses. You can even record Blackmagic RAW to USB disks. This camera goes way beyond broadcast quality with its logarithmic gamma, which lets you create a cinematic look with color grading, all in camera!

The Micro Studio Camera is small enough to be almost invisible, so you can place it anywhere on set. This gives you the ability to create new angles for your live production and create a more interesting program. The professional broadcast connections make it perfect for all types of work including television production, news, sports, education, conferences and even religious events. Now you can mount multiple cameras discreetly on stage to create amazing video! Even though it was designed for live production, the Micro Studio Camera can record Blackmagic RAW to USB-C disks for editing and color grading in your editing software.

Large broadcasters use expensive, bulky studio cameras that are inflexible. The Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera stands out because it gives you the benefits of a large studio camera in a small, rugged design that you can place anywhere. The magnesium alloy body is super strong and only slightly larger than the lens mount. You can use inexpensive, high performance MFT lenses or add adapters to work with broadcast lenses. Designed for live production, the HDMI and SDI connections use the same camera control protocol as ATEM switchers. Plus, there are quick access buttons on the front for settings and to trigger recording!

On high end cameras, ISO measures the sensitivity of the sensor to light. The higher the ISO, the more gain you can add for natural light and even nighttime shooting! With a gain range of -12dB (ISO 100) to +36dB (ISO 25600), the Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera is optimized to reduce grain and noise in images while maintaining the full dynamic range of the sensor. The primary native ISO is 400, ideal for studio lighting, while the secondary ISO of 3200 is ideal for low light environments. Gain can be set from the camera’s HDMI menu or remotely from a switcher using the SDI/HDMI remote camera control.

The incredible 4K sensor combined with Blackmagic Generation 5 Color Science gives you the same imaging technology used in digital film cameras. That means you can now create live production with cinematic images! And with the built in DaVinci Resolve primary color corrector, you get images that are much better than those from broadcast cameras. You can even control the color corrector from the switcher. The camera has 13 stops of dynamic range, so you get darker blacks and brighter whites, which is perfect for color grading. With a resolution of 4096 x 2160, the sensor is great for HD and Ultra HD production. The Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera supports 23.98 to 60 frames per second.

The Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera uses a MFT lens mount to accept a variety of affordable photographic lenses from brands like Olympus, Panasonic and Sigma! The photographic lenses offer incredible quality because they are designed for high resolution photography. The lens mount is active and allows for remote control, making it perfect for remotely controlling cameras in hard to reach locations. Plus, with the optional Focus Demand and Zoom Demand control systems, you can adjust the lens just like a large studio camera with expensive B4 lenses, including all the essential settings like focus, zoom and iris!

The Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K includes a tally light that lights up red for on-air, green for preview, and orange for ISO recording. This makes it easy for presenters to move around because they can see at a glance which camera is on air! It supports SDI and HDMI tally protocols on switchers like ATEM Television Studio, ATEM Constellation, and ATEM Mini, so when the camera is switched from one to another, the tally information is sent to the cameras, turning on the on-air camera light. And because tally is sent to the camera via SDI and HDMI, there’s no complicated cabling required.
